OUR STORY

About Patchett Design Group (PDG)

Patchett Design Group, LLC is a Las Vegas–based civil engineering firm specializing in land development and public infrastructure projects throughout Southern Nevada. PDG supports commercial land development, residential master-planned communities, and public agency–led projects where early civil judgment, permitting strategy, and agency coordination materially affect schedule and cost.

Patchett Design Group, LLC was founded with a clear purpose: to improve how civil engineering supports land development in Las Vegas and across Southern Nevada by bringing better judgment, stronger accountability, and project leadership during the earliest and most consequential phases of development.

After more than two decades leading commercial land development, residential master planning, regional flood control, and public infrastructure projects throughout Southern Nevada, founder Jesse Patchett observed a consistent pattern. Civil engineering was often treated as plan production, even though early civil decisions directly influence permitting outcomes, project schedules, construction risk, and overall development cost. When those decisions were deferred or under-vetted, projects absorbed delay, rework, increased carry costs, and unnecessary pressure later in the process.

Our Philosophy

Patchett Design Group was created to make the civil process more predictable by addressing risk early, before submittal, before construction, and before problems become expensive.

We believe civil engineering should reduce friction, not create it. Our role is to help developers and public agencies identify risk early, understand tradeoffs clearly, and make informed decisions while options are still flexible and affordable. Many of the most consequential construction cost and schedule outcomes are shaped during early civil planning, long before value engineering or construction begins.

We focus on identifying issues that may technically “work” on paper, but introduce downstream permitting, coordination, or construction risk if left unaddressed. The objective is not speed for its own sake, but clarity early enough to prevent avoidable problems later.

Patchett Design Group regularly supports projects reviewed by Clark County, the City of Las Vegas, the City of Henderson, the City of North Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Valley Water District, and CCWRD. We understand how these agencies actually review, coordinate, and approve civil engineering projects, and we design accordingly.

Our work is centered on protecting schedule certainty, capital investment, and long-term project performance by making early civil decisions deliberate, defensible, and informed by real-world constraints.

Looking ahead, our vision is straightforward: to be the civil engineering firm developers and public agencies rely on when predictability, judgment, and project outcomes matter most, and a place where engineers who value responsibility and sound decision-making can build meaningful careers.
